Penn Valley fire board to discuss chief’s retirement

The board of directors for the Penn Valley Fire Protection District will meet Tuesday to discuss planning for the district’s future, in the wake of the current fire chief’s retirement plans.

Items on the agenda include Chief Gene Vander Plaats’ plans to retire in June 2014, as well as the current lease agreement between the district and the Penn Valley Community Rodeo Association.

The board meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Station No. 43, 10513 Spenceville Road. For more information, call 530-432-2630.
