Panelists address housing and homeless issues in Nevada County Feb. 13

In the second of a two-part series, “Housing and the Homeless in Nevada County and Beyond,” a panel will discuss Saturday Nevada County’s housing situation and how it impacts homelessness. Hosted by the League of Women Voters of Western Nevada County, presenters will be Susan Farrington, president, Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras, Placer Consortium on Homelessness; Michael Haggerty, director of Health and Human Services, Nevada County; Robert Bergman and Lisa Swarthout, city council members in Nevada City and Grass Valley; and Tim Giuliani, program manager, Nevada-Sierra Regional In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority/Nevada County 211.

Refreshments and coffee service will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the program starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, 828 West Main St. in Grass Valley.
