NID offers table tents for restaurants

Local restaurants wishing to save water can now contact the Nevada Irrigation District for free “Water Served Upon Request” table tents.

NID provides the table tents at no charge to restaurants in NID service areas in Nevada and Placer counties.

NID Water Efficiency Technician Lesa Osterholm said that for every glass of water served to a restaurant guest, it takes another gallon of water to wash the glass.

Other ways California restaurants are saving water include use of water efficient, low-flow spray nozzles, scraping away food waste rather than rinsing into disposals, soaking pots and pans rather than rinsing under running water, and washing only full racks in dishwashers.

For more helpful water efficiency information, see http://www.nidwater.com. For table tents, contact Osterholm at the NID Business Center in Grass Valley, 530-273-6185.
