Submitted by Sandy Lewis |

Nevada Union High School junior Hannah Lewis won the Miss Capitol Cities Teen USA pageant at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento on Sept. 18. Lewis plays varsity water polo and basketball at NU, and is an active participant in the Athletes Committed program. In addition, Lewis has participated in leadership, serving as both her freshman and sophomore class president and is an honor student at NUHS. She hopes to attend the Annapolis Naval Academy. She will now represent the greater Sacramento region in the Miss Teen California USA pageant held in Long Beach in December. Her goals are to expand the Athletes Committed program throughout entire Sacramento region, specifically targeting middle school students in concussion awareness and the “scientific reasons why drugs and alcohol negatively effect an athletes progress.”
