Nevada County’s International Women’s Day celebration Wednesday

Gather the Women will be hosting their 15th Annual Celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. for networking and dessert at the Foothill Events Center, 400 Idaho Maryland Road, Grass Valley. The program will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $10, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

Marilyn Nyborg, co-creator of Indivisible Women of Nevada County and co-founder of Gather The Women Global Matrix in 2002, will be among the guest speakers. She asserts that American women “are at the corner of devastation and transformation.”

Also speaking will be Sharon G. Mijares, PhD, a psychologist, university professor, and author/editor of six books, and Elisa Parker, co-founder, president and host of the award winning program See Jane Do and co-creator of Indivisible Women of Nevada County.

Mijares will share her insights from working with women internationally. She has led workshops to empower women in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, Mexico, Scotland, Uganda, the United States and Venezuela.

Singer, song writer Heather MacAdam will also perform, along with Del Corazon Dance troupe, composed of local teens.
