Master gardener to discuss four season growing

Rob Chase, the vegetable propagation coordinator for Nevada County Master Gardeners, will be giving a presentation on the basics of four season gardening at 7 p.m. on Feb. 15 at the Rough and Ready Grange. Chase asserts that with careful planning and “season-extension” tricks, there is not a reason to put local gardens to bed for the late fall, winter and early spring. He will also share tips on planning now for spring gardens, as well as how to start seedlings. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. Chase owned a small organic farm for 10 years in Killingworth, Connecticut and now enjoys gardening as a hobby.

The Rough and Ready Grange is located at 14550 Rough and Ready Highway in Rough and Ready. For more information call Cathe’ Fish at 530-432-5109 or Ann Driver at 530-432-8977.
