Manage your online reputation: discover everything you need to know about your digital footprint

Robert Velarde, online marketing strategist, writer, educator, philosopher and author of “A Visual Defense,” “The Wisdom of Pixar,” “Conversations with C.S. Lewis” and “The Golden Rules of Narnia,” will speak at the Nevada County Online Meetup on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The presentation will be from 11 a.m. to noon at the Courtyard Suites, 210 North Auburn St., Grass Valley.

During the presentation, titled “Manage Your Online Reputation,” Velarde will cover such topics as how to find your personal information online, prevent online identity attacks, check and tighten your online security settings and create and manage better passwords. He will also discuss how to manage and clear your history and cache settings.

According to Velarde, “In today’s world, knowing how to manage your digital footprint is critical. Everyone needs to know what has been posted online and more important, how to best manage their online reputation.”

A national trainer/motivator and Internet marketing strategist who specializes in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) concepts and Web 2.0 social networks, Velarde travels the country as the director of Social Media Development for Successful Thinkers Network, where he also develops various online and offline communities. Successful Thinkers is a social media marketing and business referral networking group based in Sacramento.
