The AAUW Nevada County Branch will kick off their 2014-2015 year with a brunch at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 20 at Commodore Park in Lake Wildwood. This annual kick-off meeting is open to anyone interested in learning more about AAUW. On display will be information about the branch’s interest group and scholarship programs, giving attendees a snapshot view of the organization’s more than 75 years of service to our community.

Attendees will have opportunities to join avid book readers, hikers, foodies, gardeners, global world discussions, arts and craft and movie groups. AAUW membership is open to individuals with an associate, baccalaureate or higher degree from a qualified educational institution. For individuals interested in participating in branch interest groups and other activities, but who have not had the opportunity to complete a degree, the Nevada County Branch offers “Friends of AAUW” membership.

Those attending the brunch must RSVP by Sept. 13 by calling 530-470-9395 or emailing scnorton57@attn.net. For more information visit http://www.nevadacounty-ca.aauw.net.
