League of Women Voters to host ‘speak-in’

What’s on your mind? The League of Women Voters of Western Nevada County wants to know.

At their Nov. 10 meeting, the League will be holding a ‘speak-in.” Those who attend can choose to join small groups to discuss a variety of topics, Discussions will include Election 2012 results: Did it fix anything?; Public pensions: What do we really know?; the Dream Act: is it a dream or a nightmare?; gun control: love it or hate it?; senior services: are we prepared for the “silver tsunami”?; and Life off the grid: What’s it like?

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy, and its meetings are open to the public. Meetings are held from 10 a.m. to noon at Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley on the second Saturday of the month. For more information, call (530) 265-0956 or visit lwvwnc.org.
