Grass Valley merchants open doors to preschool trick or treaters Friday

Candy, costumes, outrageously decorated store fronts, awards and costumed merchants — each attempting to outdo one another — will all be part of the “Safe Trick or Treat” event for preschoolers, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in downtown Grass Valley.

In addition, the Community Support Network is hosting their 14th annual “Read to Your Child” Halloween Book Giveaway at the Center for the Arts, along with a variety of other activities, including a puppet show.

Awards will be presented for the “Best Halloween Window,” “Best Costumed Business,” “Best Costumed Theme,” “Most Child Pleasing,” “Most Enthusiastic” and “Best Overall Business.”
