Golden West Regional Fly-in & Airshow 2013 takes place Saturday

International Young Eagles Day is Saturday at the Marysville Airport. This marks the 20th annual Young Eagles event that continues the outstanding aviation tradition started by the Experimental Aircraft Association in 1992.

Since the start, more than 1.7 million Young Eagles have enjoyed a flight through this program.

Young Eagles have been registered in more than 90 countries and have been flown by nearly 45,000 volunteer pilots and 50,000 ground volunteers.

During the annual Golden West Airshow scheduled for June 7-9, kids ages 8 to 17 can sign up to participate in the Young Eagles program.

The program includes introductory flights free of charge, made possible through the generosity of the Experimental Aircraft Association.

Parents can sign up kids to participate in the program during the event. The sign-up location will be near the event entrance.

The next Young Eagles’ flights to be held at the Marysville Airport will be held the following Saturday, June 15, from 8 a.m. to noon.

All youth ages 8 to 17 are eligible for a flight at no cost. A parent or guardian must be present to sign the consent form. Call Les at 530-713-0819 if you have questions.

Many more exciting and interesting activities are planned for this year’s Golden West Airshow.
