Free Wednesday concerts with a Christmas theme

Take a moment to slow down and feel the Christmas spirit during free mini-concerts every Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church through Dec. 19 in Grass Valley. The free, half-hour concerts start at 4:45 p.m. each Wednesday, featuring organist Paul Perry, the founder and former artistic director of Music in the Mountains. They’re followed by another half-hour of prayer and meditation focused on key moments in the story leading up to Christmas. Coming up is the first concert on Dec. 5. Music includes Nevada City violinist Ann Gaines, and the prayer focus is Zechariah’s “Benedictus.”

All are welcome, and no offering is taken. Peace Lutheran Church is at 828 W. Main St., near downtown Grass Valley.
