Free Valentine’s Day concert in Nevada City

Sierra Presbyterian Church will be hosting a free concert by the Westmont College Orchestra at 2 p.m. on Valentine’s Day
WESTMONT COLLEGE |

Sierra Presbyterian Church will be hosting a free concert by the Westmont College Orchestra at 2 p.m. on Valentine’s Day. The 60-member orchestra, under the direction of Michael Shasberger, will perform Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet, Fantasy Overture,” “Music for Shakespeare” by Edward Green and “At Shakespeare’s Tomb” by Emily Rutherford. Six members of the Westmont Chapel Band will perform select pieces. The orchestra’s tour includes performances in San Luis Obispo, Sacramento, Nevada City, Yosemite and Oakhurst. Admission is free with a goodwill offering to be taken. For more information on the local concert, call Sierra Presbyterian Church at 530-265-3291.
