Food drive for Hunger Games at Del Oro Theatre

Beginning Wednesday, November 18, audiences will be able to contribute to the local Food Bank when they come to see “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay” at the Del Oro Theatre. The popular series ends this month with the last installment, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2.” Audiences will be able to see a double feature of “Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2” on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. The new film will screen again on Thursday at 7 p.m. and begin with regular show times on November 20.

Del Oro Theatre has been partnering with The Food Bank of Nevada County for every film in the series since 2012. Participation is simple. Movie-goers simply bring a non-perishable food item or $1 and receive a raffle ticket. There is no limit to the number of raffle tickets per person. The food drive runs November 18 through 22 at Del Oro Theatre. Hunger Games raffle prizes will be given away at the end of opening weekend.

The Food Bank of Nevada County is a nonprofit food assistance agency providing food distribution and nutrition education to hungry individuals and families in Nevada County.
