Trevor Michael and Cindy Latimer will be the speakers at the Oct. 4 First Tuesday educational forum, sponsored by the Nevada County Democrats. Michael is running as an incumbent for Area 3 on the Nevada County Board of Education, where he has served since March of 2011. Prior to living in Nevada County, Michael worked in Silicon Valley on next generation semiconductor industry technology. A new job in a local television industry technology company began his residence in Nevada County. He has been a parent and business owner in Nevada County since 1998. Trevor has a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in computer engineering from San Jose State University.

Latimer is running for an open seat for the Nevada Joint Union School District, District 4. She is a retired nurse who has lived in Nevada County for 38 years. Her husband Dale is a special education teacher at Bear River High School, and her two children attended Nevada Union High School.

Measure A, the “Library Measure,” will also have proponents at the forum to discuss the measure. The forum will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 at Peace Lutheran Church, 828 West Main St., in Grass Valley.

The forum is free to attend. Pizza and salad will be provided, with beverages available for purchase.
