On Nov. 3, the Sierra Nevada CA12 chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America dedicated plaques for two fallen Marines who made the ultimate sacrifice. The event took place at the Veteran’s Building in Truckee. The dedication was the culmination of months of negotiating, finding the appropriate location, fundraising to cover the cost to purchase the plaques and having them installed with the help of two local Truckee businesses. The chapter plans on a similar dedication in the town of Grass Valley for three additional plaques dedicated to fallen heroes in the spring.
