The Nevada County Superintendent of Schools welcomed over 650 county educators to the second annual Countywide Professional Development Day at Nevada Union High School on Monday. The day included relevant and valuable professional learning opportunities for Nevada County educators.

This year’s theme, “Energize!,” included a special keynote presentation by Jon Corippo, Director of Academic Innovation for CUE (Computer Using Educators). Corippo was also one of many presenters who led self-selected breakout sessions, which included 43 varied workshops presented by Nevada County teachers and instructional leaders as well as community partners such as the Nevada County Arts Council, CPS, Sierra Streams, SYRCL, Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, and Behavioral Health. Topics covered numerous areas of focus, including technology, science, math, art, student engagement, and health and safety.
