The Captain John Oldham Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution recently honored four area high school seniors as DAR “Good Citizens.” Each was presented with a certificate and pin and will receive a monetary award. The DAR awards recognize high school seniors who possess the good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities. Students are selected by their teachers for demonstrating and each participates in the scholarship portion of the program, which consists of the submission of a written essay and a written description on the qualities of good citizenship.
