Citizens for Choice fundraiser to screen award-winning documentary

This year the Citizens for Choice Fall Fundraiser event will be at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 at the historic Nevada Theatre in Nevada City. The evening will feature the award-winning documentary “Sister” by Brenda Davis, which tells the story of health workers from Ethiopia, Cambodia and Haiti and how they find meaning while working under difficult circumstances and revealing maternal and newborn death as a human rights issue.

An intimate portrait of a global crisis woven from indigenous scenery and vérité footage, “Sister” captures colors, sights and sounds while exploring dedicated health workers and those in their care through intense and beautiful moments. Visit http://www.citizensforchoice.org to purchase advance tickets, which are $30, or $35 at the door.
