Christmas comes early for Kare Crisis kids

Santa arrived Monday at the Holbrooke Hotel to visit 26 KARE Crisis Nursery children and their families, along with members from the Grass Valley Host and Nevada City Lions Clubs, representing Sierra Zone Lions. Santa arrived in a Grass Valley Fire Department fire engine arranged by Grass Valley Host Lion Randy Witt, with all of the children watching. Santa was escorted downstairs to the hotel’s Iron Door, where he treated the children to bags full of presents. Assisting KARE Crisis Nursery staff were members from the two Sierra Zone Lions clubs, whose donations went toward presents. Above, executive director Lynn Woerner sits on Santa’s lap wearing a shirt that says “I Believe in Santa.” For more information about either of the two Lions Clubs, contact Sierra Zone chair Doug Wight at 530-477-0134.
