Bernie supporters host debate party

Nevada County for Bernie and Boomers for Bernie have joined forces to host a Democratic Debate Watching Party on Saturday at the Foothills Event Center, 400 Idaho Maryland Road in Grass Valley.

Doors open at 5 and the program begins at 5:30 p.m. with a musical number by local musician Heather Macadam, who will perform, “Hey Bernie Sanders,” followed by an inspirational clip of Sanders’ career highlights. Everyone is invited regardless of which candidate or party they endorse.

The Democratic candidates have been narrowed to three, Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley, and Senator Bernie Sanders, giving each an adequate amount of time to state their positions on the pressing issues facing our country and to draw distinctions between their policies versus those supported by Republican candidates.

Wine, beer, soft drinks and three specialty pizzas will be offered for sale by the Foothills Event Center. There will be discussion and an opportunity to volunteer for the Sanders campaign following the debate. For more information, please call 530-388-0959.
