Banner Mountain residents to address fire and home security at today’s meeting in Nevada City

In a year with increased concerns, residents of Banner Mountain are meeting at 10 a.m. today at Seaman’s Lodge in Pioneer Park to discuss and learn about serious issues facing their neighborhood. With fire danger likely to be much higher than average, new tools to help prevent buildings from burning will be presented. Experts will also present a strategic initiative to more effectively reduce biomass to lessen wild fire fuel. In addition, property crime has increased, so police and neighborhood-watch volunteers will explain how to protect property. A county supervisor will be on hand to update residents on how the government can help address these issues. Presentations will be followed by product demonstrations and a free lunch.
