Author to speak to Gold Country Writers in Auburn

Nanci Lee Woody, author of Tears and Trombones, will be the guest speaker at the Gold Country Writers’ meeting from 10 a.m. to noon on Feb. 17. Woody’s first novel won the prestigious Independent Publishers medal (IPPY) for Best Fiction in the Western Region but she is also a prolific writer of poetry, song lyrics and short stories. She has won short story contests, written children’s books, and the lyrics for a musical titled, “Hello to Life!” produced in Sacramento. Her poetry has been published in anthologies and online. At one time she wrote text books and taught at the college level. Her book is available on Amazon.

Woody’s upcoming talk is entitled, “My Journey as an Author.” The event is free, and will begin at 10 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1279 High St. in Auburn. The public is welcome.
