Annual “Solar Cook-Off” and potluck

Community members interested in learning about alternative cooking methods are invited to attend a “Solar Cook-Off” on Saturday, August 2 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 615 Hollow Way, Nevada City. If you already have a solar oven, bring it and ingredients for a favorite dish to share. If you don’t already have an oven, come to the cook-off and learn how to make your own solar cooker. Cooking begins at 10 a.m. and the potluck begins 4 p.m. Come join the fun and be prepared to cook efficiently and inexpensively on your next camping trip or power outage. For more information, contact Ken Dorris at 530-292-4213.
