Annual ‘Blessing of the Animals’ Saturday in Grass Valley

Charlane Line, right, while Elizabeth Ekblad looks on during a ‘Blessing of the Animals,’ held in 2015 at Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley. Dogs, rats, horses, cats and all creatures great and small are welcome to this year’s free event, which marks the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the Italian mystic who believed all of nature mirrors the Divine.
