65 years together

Jean Jacques and Marie Elizabeth Legras of Grass Valley will be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on Dec. 7. The couple, who were self-proclaimed “ski bums” for many years, met during the record snow year of 1952 at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort. Jean Jacques had previously served with the French ski mountain troops during World War II. Marie Elizabeth was raised in Nevada City, the daughter of a head U.S. Forest Service ranger.
