New bands at Cooper’s this week

New faces will be at Cooper’s saloon in Nevada City this week, including Big Picture on Wednesday.

The Danny Brant Band from San Francisco is led by singer-songwriter/guitarist Danny Brant Schultz, formerly leader of the Boulder, Colo., Band Du Jour.

Saturday’s show from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. will consist of mostly original dance songs that combine blues, soul, funk and rock. Cover is $5.

Big Picture will make its debut Wednesday from 8 to 11 p.m.




The Nevada County alternative rock-groove band consists of Brian Emmet on bass, Robby Kopp on drums, Bruce Carter on guitar, Darin Driscoll on rhythm guitar and keyboards, and Johana Emmet and Jenn Knapp on vocals.

Jeremy Kerr opens the 8:30 p.m. show. There’s no cover.

Cooper’s is at 235 Commercial St. in Nevada City.
