Nevada County receives federal funds for emergency food and shelter programs

Nevada County’s non-profit agencies with emergency food and shelter programs have two weeks to apply for funds from a recent federal grant.

A national board that includes the Federal Emergency Management Agency recently designated $24, 241 to the county as part of a national program to expand emergency food and shelter programs in high-need areas.

To qualify, agencies must be private non-profits or units of government and have a demonstrated ability to deliver emergency food or shelter programs.

To learn more and request an application, contact Terry Winters at (530) 913-3128 or email director@nchcd.org.

The application deadline is noon on April 2.
