Nevada County Police Blotter: Caller reports seeing an owl that ‘does not look so good’

7:43 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Minnie Street reported finding a very heavy, open backpack containing purses in a park.
8:36 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sierra College Drive reported theft of outdoor decorations.
8:39 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of East Bennett Street reported a homeless camp in a wooded area. When law enforcement arrived, two men were cited for possession of stolen property, including chainsaws. A stolen motorcycle was also located and recovered.
11:23 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Butler Street reported a man and a woman in a truck left two mattresses and other belongings in the street and were causing a disturbance. Another caller reported the woman jumped on top of the truck and the man drove away.
6:41 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Ivy Street reported his sister was hearing someone in the area screaming “let me out.” The caller said his sister heard the same thing the previous night.
9:25 p.m. — A caller from the 900 block of Golden Gate Terrace reported a man in a parking lot was scaring parents and children.
3:18 a.m. — A caller near the intersection of Union Jack and Bennett Streets reported a group of people in a camp behind his house that “pray nightly, smoke the joints and trade needles as they traverse his property.”
6:54 a.m. — A person in the Grass Valley Police Department’s lobby reported a man came up to her when she was at her vehicle, propositioned her and exposed himself. The woman requested advice on self-defense. An indecent exposure charge was issued.
9:03 a.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Jenkins Street reported he had people come into his house and they just left, after telling him he was in an accident. The caller said he didn’t know what happened, but there was blood on the back of his head. The caller asked for dispatchers to call his father. The caller said he was under the influence the previous night and went to sleep at his house. He then woke up in the morning with a head injury and didn’t know what was going on. He said two of his friends may have assaulted him while he was intoxicated earlier in the morning. He said he would work the issue out with his friends.
9:28 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported a man sleeping behind a business. When law enforcement arrived, an arrest was made due to outstanding warrants.
7:08 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of W McKnight Way reported a shoplifter, who was very high and agitated, was in custody at a business. An arrest was made on four local warrants.
8:12 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of E Main Street reported she had been sleeping all day and woke up to find that her car keys had been taken from her purse and her vehicle was missing.
11:22 p.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Plaza Drive reported an employee busted into the bathroom at a business while she was exposed and using birth control. The caller said she was calling from the parking lot of the business and was with her boyfriend. Another caller reported he just saw an employee at a business “get verbally assaulted” by a woman.

2:59 a.m. — A caller from McCarter Way reported seeing 5-6 people dressed in black on his security cameras. The caller said he had several shotguns loaded with rock salt, but he would put them away when deputies arrived.
8:04 a.m. — A caller from Francis Drive reported theft of mail from several mailboxes.
10:10 a.m. — A caller from Bloomfield Graniteville Road reported she was in a car accident earlier this year and now believes she knows who it is and that they were trying to killer and are stalking her.
12:11 p.m. — A caller from Single Tree Lane reported neighbors were shooting and bullets were ricocheting onto the caller’s property.
1:15 p.m. — A person at the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office front counter reported her husband stole two iPhones, a computer and several other items.
4:02 p.m. — A person in the Grass Valley Police Department’s lobby reported finding mail inside a pizza box.
6:10 p.m. — A caller near the intersection of Gold Hill and Footwall Drives reported an owl was in the roadway and just flew onto a wire. The caller said the owl “does not look so good.”
7:15 p.m. — A caller from Grizzly Hill Road reported seeing someone breaking into his house on a security camera. On call back, the caller said he had been looking at an old video and the incident actually happened yesterday.
11:13 a.m. — A caller from Red Dog Road reported a man in his apartment building stole the carpet he was trying to put in his room.
