Nevada County official: Brunswick Road repairs completed 2 weeks early

Nevada County officials say that repairs to Brunswick Road will be complete two weeks ahead of schedule.

The repairs, south of East Bennett Road, will be done this weekend. It will reopen to traffic on Saturday.

“Since July 15, Hansen Bros. Enterprises has expedited emergency repairs to Brunswick Road that included the installation of additional subsurface drains and removed and replaced approximately 4,000 cubic yards of roadway fill,” said Joshua Pack, the county’s principal civil engineer, in a release. “With drainage and roadway fill work complete, the contractor is scheduled to pave and restripe the road in the middle portion of this week.”

Heavy winter storms damaged the road, leading it to settle by over 14 inches. Emergency repairs stabilized the street, though officials say more permanent repairs were necessary.
