Nevada County officials said Tuesday that repairs to Brunswick Road should reach completion this Saturday, two weeks ahead of schedule.

Heavy winter storms damaged the street, just south of East Bennett Road, leading it to settle by 14 inches and requiring emergency repairs. County officials said earlier this month that a more permanent fix was needed and that the roadwork would extend into August. However, they revised that schedule Tuesday and said they now anticipate a Saturday reopening on the road.

“With drainage and roadway fill work complete, the contractor is scheduled to pave and restripe the road in the middle portion of this week,” said Joshua Pack, the county’s principal civil engineer, in a release.

Hansen Bros. Enterprises began the emergency work on July 15. It’s installed additional drains and replaced about 4,000 cubic yards of roadway fill, Pack said.
