Nevada County Fair wins top awards from national association

The Nevada County Fair recently received eighteen awards at the Western Fairs Association convention in Reno, Nev.

The awards included six first prizes, one of which was for the Draft Horse Classic, recognized as one of the premier equestrian shows in western United States.

The awards also included the featured winner for the Best Fair Employee Program and Ideas for Employee Recognition.

The fair, formally known as the 17th District Agricultural Association, competed in the medium-size category at the convention with 150 other fairs.

Western Fairs Association represents fairs in the western United States and Canada, including the Alaska State Fair, Minnesota State Fair, Hawaii State Fair and the Calgary Stampede.

At the request of the Western Fairs Association, Nevada County Fair participated in a special seminar and presented its award-winning employee program to the fair industry.
