Nevada County Elections Office: Voters should expect ballots around May 20
The Nevada County Elections Office reports that voters should expect their vote-by-mail ballots around May 20, due to a delay in mailing by the vendor printing the documents.
“I was following up with our printer to verify that our vote-by-mail ballots were mailed yesterday,” Assistant Clerk-Recorder Sandy Sjoberg wrote in an email Friday. “I am sad to report that our printer was not able to get them in the mail. The printer stated that the ballots have to be verified by appointment in Santa Ana first. I believe this is where they get scanned for mailing. Apparently, this is done by appointment only, and the soonest available appointment is Monday, May 16.”
Sjoberg continued to say that once the ballots are verified, then Tuesday, May 17, they will be delivered to the sorting center in West Sacramento to be mailed.
