Nevada Countians to be proud of…

Corey Greenan, a 1998 graduate of Nevada Union High School, has been chosen to be one of the four new principals in the Broadway show “Mamma Mia!” With the show playing to record-breaking houses across North America, Greenan debuted recently in Tucson, Ariz., as “Sky,” one of the male leads in the show. At NU he was active in Chamber Choir and was one of the class valedictorians. Greenan then went on to graduate from Pepperdine University in 2002. Grass Valley musician and singer Jim Elsaas has joined the “Live Lawrence Welk Show,” which is on a 20-city, four-week tour of Canada. Elsaas, who plays guitar, banjo, mandolin and bass, provides a community service when he’s in town by performing at many assisted-living facilities in the area. He also is a member of Dr. Bach & the Jazz Practitioners, which plays at the Nevada County Fair; the “living history band” Moonlight Swing; and Thicker than Water, a family band.
