Nevada City’s Bob Lickter dies Saturday

Nevada City photographer and longtime pharmacist Bob Lickter died at about 2 a.m. Saturday morning of unknown causes.

Lickter, 68, moved to the Nevada City area in the early 1970s and worked professionally as a pharmacist for years before retiring recently and volunteering his time with the South Yuba River Citizens League.

He leaves behind daughters Maggie, 25, and Kate, 21.

Longtime Nevada City councilman Paul Matson said Lickter’s death was unexpected and will leave a void.

“Bob was always willing to help with any civic function,” Matson said. “He did a fabulous job recording all of the people in this community and will be missed.”
