Nevada City man killed in crash

A 23-year-old Nevada City resident was killed Friday night after losing control of his sport utility vehicle on Highway 49 near the Broad Street off-ramp.

The victim, James Sindt, reportedly lost control of the vehicle as he was driving past the speed limit. Because the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, he was partially ejected from the SUV after it hit a guard rail. The driver was most likley killed after he struck a wooden post while the vehicle was spinning out of control.
