Cornish Christmas ornaments have a great old-fashioned look again this year. The Grass Valley Downtown Association and the Neighborhood Center of the Arts continue to work together creating a tradition of unique keepsakes.

Simple mementos of the spirit of Christmas are being crafted by clients of the center using clay and glazes.

This year’s shapes are Christmas Trees and hearts. The clients will emboss the clay ornaments with “Cornish Christmas 2002, Grass Valley,” glaze the shapes with a variety of colors, fire them, attach tree hangers, identify the artist and both organizations.

This partnership for success, we believe, reflects the true value of the holiday. The artists at the center are very excited about their participation in this project and the GVDA is very pleased to have an ornament that is new and different from any other or place in the world, made in Nevada County and with a touch of an angel!

The money that is received from the sale of the ornaments will benefit both organizations and the artists who make these wonderful unique pieces. They are also available at various Grass Valley merchants. Start your collection now!
