Ned Stephenson

Memorial services for Ned Stephenson of Nevada City will be conducted at noon Saturday at Seaman’s Lodge in Nevada City.

Mr. Stephenson died Sunday, Dec. 19, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. He was 61.

He was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Glendale, to Bernice and Glen Stephenson. He served in the U.S. Navy. He attended the University of Reno. He was an artist, humanitarian, naturalist, deep-sea diver, explorer, architect, designer and builder.

He is survived by his sister, Sharon Weaver; brothers Leroy and Leonard Stephenson; and daughter, Crystal Blu Bynum-Stephenson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
