Neal Winship

A celebration of life for Neal E. Winship of Nevada City will be conducted at a later date.

Mr. Winship died Thursday, March 10, in Grass Valley. He was 76.

He was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Wauwatosa, Wis., to Glen and Hazel (Radtke) Winship. He graduated from technical high school in Oakland. He married Delores on Jan. 14, 1960, in Berkeley. He worked for Golden Bear in Berkeley as an auto body repairman for 35 years. He was a volunteer for 15 years at the Cancer Aid Thrift Store. He enjoyed tending to his property.



He is survived by his wife, Delores Winship of Nevada City; sons Rick W. Winship and Mark A. Winship both of Nevada City; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Janelle Winship-Leon and Rudi Braulio Leon of Pittsburgh; and great-grandchildren Alex Christopher Leon, Vanessa Nicole Leon, Christian Nicholas Leon, and Benjamin Neal Leon all of Pittsburgh; brother, Gordon Winship of Campbell; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Robert Manning of Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Aid Thrift Store or the charity of the donor’s choice.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
