NCBOR Installation Dinner held

President Corn's goal this year is to get more Realtors active in events and in the board functions in general, as well as to continue the Board of Realtors' goal of increasing property owners rights in general throughout our county and state.

New officers for Nevada County Board of Realtors were installed this past Fall in a fun filled evening at the Nevada City Elks Lodge.

Incoming President Dick Corn, of Paul Law GMAC Realty began his real estate career in 1966 and is active in many committees in NCBOR and also active in numerous community activities and organizations. President-elect Corn was greeted by tables decorated by the affiliate committee with among other decor, candy corns.

Master of Ceremonies Tom Coleman had the group in laughter throughout the evening as Rolf Kleinhans, outgoing President, assisted with the installation, as did Region 3 Chair Cory Gold from Yolo County Board of Realtors.



Jake Covert of Central Pacific Mortgage was installed as Vice President, Michael Straight of VIP Properties as Secretary, and Mark Porter of Paul Law GMAC as Treasurer.

Directors for Nevada County Board of Realtors this year will be Pam Amato of Coldwell Banker Grass Roots Realty, Pam Auld of Network Real Estate, Patty Lanser of Lyon and Associates, Jean Pritchard of Network Real Estate, Gregg Adams of Century 21 Gold Dust Realty, Teresa Crowley of Cornerstone Realty Group, Scott Hicks of Landmark Properties, Debbie Krogman of Real Estate Center, Paul Sieving of Paul Law GMAC Real Estate, Mark Weyman of Coldwell Banker Grass Roots Realty and Immediate Past President, Rolf Kleinhans of Network Real Estate.




President-elect Corn asked for a moment of silence and prayer for members who are ill or have passed away this past year.

The “prestigious of the year awards” were presented as follows:

Mimi Simmons of Cornerstone Realty Group presented the Realtor of the Year Award to Cindy Cara of Network Real Estate; Teresa Crowley of Cornerstone Realty Group presented the Realtor Associate of the year to Diann Patton of Coldwell Banker Grass Roots Realty; Affiliate of the Year Award was presented by Troy Lester of First American Title to Jim Franks of Fidelity National Title; Citizen of the Year was presented by Maude Walker, formally of California Land Title, to Kathy Whittelsy of Nevada City Chamber of Commerce for her tireless efforts; Community Service of the Year Award was presented by Mimi Simmons of Cornerstone Realty Group to Michael Straight of VIP Properties, in recognition for his tremendous investment of time and energy in many organizations and projects that benefit our county in general.
