National Trails Day set for Saturday

Celebrate National Trails Day Saturday by participating in a wheelchair-accessible walk on the Independence Trail, 10 a.m. to noon. A Sequoya Challenge guide will add to the appreciation of wildflowers, butterflies and the history of the trail, which is the nation’s first accessible outdoor trail ever built.

Meet at the trail head on Hwy. 49, six miles north of Nevada City. Call Linda at 273-6881 for more information or go online at http://www.sequoyachallenge.org. This event is free.
