Mystery writer Lescroart at book signing

John Lescroart (pronounced “less-kwah”) is a big believer in hard work and single-minded dedication, although he’ll acknowledge that a little luck never hurts. Now a New York Times bestselling author whose books have been translated into 16 languages in more than 75 countries, John will be visiting Grass Valley to introduce his latest book, “The Motive,” at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Odyssey Books.

Lescroart is best known for his series of crime and legal dramas starring an enigmatic Irish attorney named Dismas Hardy. Beginning with titles “Dead Irish” and “The Vig,” the stories take place in familiar San Francisco environs and feature a seasoned cast of recurring characters.

Combining top-notch police detective work, riveting courtroom drama and captivating plots, it’s easy to see how sales of Lescroart’s books have topped 10 million worldwide.

In his latest book “The Motive,” Lescroart once again visits the hazardous intersection of the precinct and the courtroom.

Copies of “The Motive” and other books by John Lescroart are available now, and Lescroart will be available for discussion, questions and book signing at the free Wednesday evening event.

Readers, writers and lovers of a great story should plan on attending.
