Mystery writer at The Book Seller

Bay Area mystery author David Corbett will discuss his latest novel, “Done For a Dime,” at The Book Seller on Aug. 12.

“Done For a Dime” is set in bars and jazz clubs of a Northern California town where small-time crime and big-time corruption collide. The book was a New York Times Notable Book of 2003.

Corbett’s writing is influenced by his former work as a private investigator working on high-profile criminal and civil cases in San Francisco.

He also wrote “The Devil’s Redhead” which is the story of a drug-smuggler with a heart of gold, or at least silver.

The author will appear at 6:30 p.m. The Book Seller is at 107 Mill St. in Grass Valley.
