Myrna Marshall

A celebration of the life of Myrna B. Marshall will be conducted at 2 p.m. July 20 at the Grass Valley Methodist Church.

Mrs. Marshall died Friday, July 5, at Mercy Hospital in Redding after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage. She was 78.

She was born Oct. 17, 1923, in Boston to Fred and Myrna Buschmeyer. She attended Randolph Macon Women’s College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute during World War II. She married Neil Marshall on Nov. 18, 1944, in Washington, D.C. She was a homemaker. She and Neil retired to Lake Wildwood in 1983.

She enjoyed golf, traveling and square dancing. She rang English hand bells at her church and was active in the Interfaith Food Ministry, the Emergency Assistance Coalition and numerous church committees.

She is survived by her husband, Neil of Lake Wildwood; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Christine of Citrus Heights; daughters Louise of Portland, Ore., and Barbara of Sandy, Ore.; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Walter Davis of New Hampshire; grandchildren Andy and his wife, Tina, of Missouri, Julie of Guatemala, and Nataly, Siena, Melia and Jillian of Sandy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills or to the Grass Valley Methodist Church Building Fund.
