Musicians exchange begins in county

Andy Gonzales of Grass Valley wants to proclaim Nevada County the “Music Capital of Northern California.” Toward this end, this marketing consultant and percussionist has started the Nevada County Musician’s Exchange, which has a newsletter, “Tempo,” published once a month, presently at no cost. It covers all music in any way shape and form in Nevada County and surrounding counties. Interviews, ads, events and memberships are included.

The Exchange’s mission, says Gonzales, is to act as an informational clearing house not only for the musicians here in the area, but also for those in search of entertainment. “We bring the musicians together under the Musician’s Exchange and than together with their audience,” he says.
