Muriel Ewen

A graveside burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Grass Valley, for Muriel Daisy Ewen. Mrs. Ewen passed away June 18 in Grass Valley. She was 96.

Mrs. Ewen was born March 16, 1911, to Rolly L. Baker and Clara P. Niedermeyer, in Fisherie, Idaho. She attended high school and, on April 14, 1934, married Joe Ewen in Long Beach.

From 1939 to 1943, Mrs. Ewen worked for Cal Ships. She went on to work at Bank of America from 1945 to 1960. From 1976 to 2001, she was the park manager for Rough and Ready Mobile Village.



Mrs. Ewen is survived her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Elaine Ewen of Carmel; daughter-in-law, Jean Ewen of Plano, Texas; grandchildren Robin Stubbs, Billy Lingo and Robert Bosma, all of Grass Valley; 12 other grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe W. Ewen, in 1990; daughter, Jeanette Honea, in 1994; and son, Rolly Ewen, in 2005.

Memorial contributions can be made to Abundant Life Community Church, Grass Valley.
