Mural misses mark

There is no doubt in my mind that any mural that John Pugh creates will be beautiful and easy to look at. I have seen some that are so three-dimensional, that it seems you could just walk right into them.

As for the mural’s subject, if it is to represent Nevada County historically, it must include the three types of mining that were done here: placer, hard rock and hydraulic. It should also include the Yuba, of course, the logging that was so big in this area, the Narrow Gauge Railroad and some of the historical buildings that are in Grass Valley and Nevada City.

In addition, when viewing this mural you should want to see it up close, not from the freeway.
