Mr. Reagan Which media are hypocrites?

I don’t know anything about Mike Reagan, nor do I make a habit of reading his columns. I did happen to glance at Reagan’s Monday column, “Pardon me, but isn’t the media hypocritical?”, and I must say that for a media commentator presumably “in the know,” he doesn’t have a very good grasp of what “media” means, at least not grammatically speaking. (Never mind the fact that the bulk of his article is made up of supposed “facts” from Wikipedia … I have no problem with this in theory, as long as he independently fact-checked whatever made it into the column). Media, of course, is a plural term, despite the assumption of many that “the media” is some amorphous cabal all working as one machine. Media are all around us, true. But they are not an “it.” Pardon me, Mr. Reagan, but before you go on to condemn the media’s hypocrisy, specify which media you are referring to.
