More positives than negatives

During the presidential candidates’ debate at Dartmouth College, Hillary Clinton stated she would never torture a prisoner of war, even if unfriendly persuasion could prevent the explosion of a bomb that would kill thousands.

Tim Russert, the interlocutor, pointed out that her husband, former President Bill Clinton, once sensibly answered “yes” to a similar question.

Debates are not the greatest test for selecting candidates for office, particularly for president, but this does seem to qualify as an easy puff question to answer, especially since we all know that 9/11 really happened. Or do we? Apparently, some one-third of our citizens polled believe that 9/11 was caused by a Bush bomb or some other crazy postulate.

If this were the only scary ghost in Hillary’s closet, we might cut her some slack, but there is enough dirt to fill at least a dozen books. She has more negatives then almost any candidate in history, and that’s a big accomplishment.

If we are going to elect a woman president, we need someone with more positives than negatives. And yes, we are Republicans.
