Moore stopping in Grass Valley on book tour

New York City author and filmmaker Michael Moore will talk Sunday in Grass Valley as part of his national book tour. On Sunday, Moore will appear at Center for the Arts from 3 to 6 p.m.

In his most recent book (February 2002), “Stupid White Men … and Other Sorry Excuses for the State of the Nation!,” Moore tackles controversial topics including the Bush presidency, Enron, mad cow disease and his hands-on involvement with Nevada County’s Public Defender’s Office in March 2000.

Moore, the New York Times best-selling author of “Downsize This!,” first won acclaim with his documentary, “Roger & Me.” His Emmy-winning series, “TV Nation” and “The Awful Truth,” brought his corporate-skewering campaign straight into living rooms across the United States.

A portion of proceeds from the books sold Sunday will benefit community radio station KVMR in Nevada City. Admission is free to the discussion.

Call Alison Jones-Pomatto at The Book Seller, 272-2131, for more information about Sunday’s event.
